Why This Work Matters
Self-Determination is one of the most powerful programs available to individuals with developmental disabilities in California — and one of the most confusing. As the mother of a 36-year-old son with developmental disabilities, Heddi knows this world from the inside. She has sat across from families who felt overwhelmed, unsure where to start, or afraid of making a mistake — because she has been that family. She's here to help them take a breath and take the next step.
Her approach is always person-centered. That means starting with the individual — their strengths, their dreams, their voice — and building everything else from there. No cookie-cutter plans. No one-size-fits-all answers. Just thoughtful, individualized support that honors who each person is and what they want their life to look like.
Heddi is a Regional Center-vendored provider offering both 024 Person-Centered Planning and 099 Independent Facilitator services in San Diego County and surrounding areas. She works alongside individuals, families, and support teams to make the SDP process clearer, more manageable, and genuinely empowering.
